ONSILLA- Lounge Chair
This design was made for the 2024 Humber Chair Show, as a team project and in partnership with Nienkämper. The design directions were leaning towards a more free form and fluid shape rather than a traditional boxy shape. The chair is intended for people that want to work in a comfortable and yet functional chair.

01
First concept sketches
From the start, there were some main feautures that were implemented in the design, like a high back rest for privacy, a bottom storage base and a curve seat with elevated sides for more room and support.
02
Dimensioning
After refining the design, technical drawings 1:1 scale were made to dimension all the proportions and define the ergonomics in terms of height and depth of the seat and back.

03
Prototyping
After approving the final design and getting all the right dimensions. The building process started, using plywood, metal plaques and screws/nuts to build the back and seat, adding 1 inch foam to cover the whole shape; while for the legs, poplar wood was used, to be stained after with a walnut finish.
